BGMS hosts a Mini-Olympic Games!

The eyes of the world might be on Paris, but here at Blue Gum we hosted our own Mini Olympic Games, supported by the Cockburn ARC, on Friday 2 August.

Festivities started early in the week as our Olympic Torch, made by our Visual Arts teacher Louise, began travelling through the School, starting with Junior Primary on Tuesday before moving to Middle Primary on Wednesday and finally completing its journey in Upper Primary.

Students from Pre-primary to Year 6 were grouped into different countries where they raced in year levels in sprints, relays and hurdles, learned new sports like long jump and javelin, and took part in team games such as soccer and capture the flag.

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this fantastic activity. Thank you to the team from the Cockburn ARC, and an extra-special thank you to our Sports teacher Tara, without whom the day would not have been possible.
