Upper Primary Assembly
What an amazing end to a brilliant Term!
Thursday 29 June was the Upper Primary Assembly and students from Banksia, Coolibah and Kurrajong wowed us with their spectacular performances.
Banksia taught us about the century long history of the Royal Perth Show and took us on a tour of everyone’s favourite parts of the Show; Sideshow Alley, the CWA stalls, the agricultural competitions and the fashion show. Banksia concluded their performance by reciting a poem about the Royal Show.
Coolibah told us a yarn about the discovery of gold in Western Australia. We learnt about how people hurried to the goldfields in the hopes of getting rich, and how a man named Paddy Hannan
discovered the gold nugget that kicked off Western Australia’s gold rush and founded the city of Kalgoorlie.
Lastly, Kurrajong showed us the importance of taking care of the environment with their performance about a Carribean island suffering from the effects of pollution.
The assembly concluded with a wonderful performance from the BGMS Choir, who reminded us about how important One Kind Word can be.
